The Museum of German Inland Shipping will be hosting a children’s quiz as part of the ongoing special exhibition “Families Under Steam” on the last Sunday of the month, November 24th, at 11:00 AM at Apostelstraße 84 in Ruhrort.
Join Patrick Hayes, a member of our museum staff, as he leads a fun and informative quiz through our special exhibition, “Families Under Steam.” All young participants will be rewarded with a certificate upon completion. This event is perfect for families with school-aged children.
Embark on a journey through time at the German Museum of Inland Shipping! Explore three floors of interactive exhibits showcasing the evolution of inland navigation from prehistoric times to today. With detailed models and hands-on displays, you’ll discover the fascinating world of river and canal transportation. The highlight is the Tjalk “Goede Verwachting”, a magnificent 1913 cargo sailing ship, proudly displayed under full sail in the former men’s swimming hall.
The museum is designed to be accessible to all visitors, with nearly all exhibition areas being wheelchair-friendly. Visitors requiring a rollator can borrow one for free at the reception desk during their visit
